What This Position Is All About:

Saks.com is looking for a Director of Integrations, Systems Engineering who can work in a fast-paced, service oriented organization. This position within the Corporate Information Systems team will build/lead a small team that will partner with all parts of the company to design, build, and test enterprise-grade system integrations.  These integrations will enable seamless synchronization across a multitude of HR, financial, merchandizing, warehousing, and data analytics platforms.  The organization is currently transitioning to an independent entity, this role will be instrumental in defining the technical strategy for transitioning from a variety of legacy technologies to a modern cloud architecture.  The ideal candidate will have experience with a broad range of mainframe and client/server technologies and be able to help define the best migration path through the transition.  This position will manage a team of integration engineers with various technical skill sets and be required to partner with other groups within IT as well as the broader business.

Develop a strong team, skills and culture around integration that crosses the multiple disciplines.
Develop and drive a vision for the integration architecture that will sustain the organization as it grows.
Be a strong influence on developing the path for separating an existing complex application landscape and plotting a path to modern platforms


Who you are:


Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise application integration architecture and development.
Previous experience managing a team of developers.
Thorough understanding of service-oriented architecture in application development.
Experience using IBM ESB software (ACE, WMB/IIB) and ESQL is preferred.
Adept proficiency in programming languages common to message transformation and data mapping, including XML, JSON, Java, etc.
Knowledgeable in the various components used for data transmission protocol: REST, SOAP, sFTP, etc., as well as components available for message encryption and decryption.
Readiness to facilitate migration from legacy, on-premise application integration to a hybrid solution with newly implemented SaaS platforms. 
Thorough understanding of CI/CD pipelines, and a working knowledge within the various DevOps tools available (e.g. Git Hub, Jenkins, etc.).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to translate complex business user requirements into appropriate solutions.
Experience with Agile Methodologies such as Scrum, but also with more traditional structured approaches
Team Player, able to provide input into a multifunctional team
Can work effectively with geographically-distributed teams.
Exposure to technologies such as IBM mainframe/DB2, Oracle RDBMS, and EDI is a plus.
Experience working within the retail industry or a digital business is a plus.
