Role Summary: 

As the Director of Network Optimization you will manage a team of Product and Program Managers, responsible for defining the strategic direction, goals, and roadmap to optimize Saks’ fulfillment network. You will weigh a variety of factors, including fulfillment cost, shipping speed, shipping reliability, inventory cost, etc. to determine when and where new nodes must be added to the network. You will also work closely with engineering teams and operations stakeholders to build systems to scale and automate product placement and fulfillment decisions. 


Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Engineering, Logistics or similar fields

  • 7+ years of experience in a planning & engineering leadership role in transportation/logistic

  • 3+ years experience in managing large cross-functional programs of more than $50MM yearly operating costs

  • Demonstrated experience in performing complex analysis/solving complex business problems

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product


Role Description: 

  • Work with operations stakeholders to develop a network strategy that optimizes customer fulfillment costs against delivery SLAs and reliability

  • Work closely with engineering counterparts to design and build tools that automate inventory placement decisions as well as the fulfillment to promise pipeline

  • Own the product roadmap, communicating to all stakeholders project timelines and impact

  • Identify new projects and develop mechanisms to plan, prioritize, and communicate the work to relevant stakeholders across the organization
