Role Summary:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Saks, you’ll join a team of engineers, designers, and product managers to bring value through our marketplace business. This role focuses on integrating data across our internal systems and external marketplace partners. You will build distributed processing applications and microservices and enhance our web application to expand the assortment of products offered by Saks. You will play a significant role in shaping the architecture, roadmap and development of our marketplace from beginning to end. Key Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or another related field
  • 7+ years programming experience with at least one modern JVM language such as Java, Scala or Kotlin
  • Familiar with functional programming concepts and object-oriented design
  • Experience working with various AWS services
  • Experience working with Agile, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSql technologies
  • Experience working with JSON, HTML, XML and REST APIs
  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Strong knowledge of systems design 
  • Experience working with a distributed processing framework strongly preferred
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination prior to beginning employment

Role Description:

  • Define and build elegant and simple APIs to solve difficult problems in e-commerce/marketplace integration
  • Develop distributed applications and tools to process product, inventory and price data
  • Write clean, tested and maintainable code to implement features on our web application to support market
  • Communicate with various teams across the organization to gather functional and technical specifications
