job description

Who We Are:

Saks is a world-renowned luxury e-commerce destination. The company’s unique approach combines a focus on the digital customer experience with a strong connection to an extraordinary network of stores. Earlier in 2021, Saks Fifth Avenue separated its ecommerce business from its physical stores positioning Saks, as a digital company, the center of gravity for the brand.

On its website and app, Saks offers an unparalleled selection of curated merchandise across fashion for both women and men, including beauty, jewelry, home décor, and more. In addition to the shopping experience, customers come to Saks for inspiring editorial content, access to digital stylists, lifestyle experiences, and other world-class services.

What This Position Is All About:

As a Team Lead at Saks, you will be responsible for overseeing testing within a specific team and/or initiative while actively contributing as a hands-on expert. You will design and develop effective test plans and strategies, drive test execution and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic development environment. You will provide guidance, mentor and train team members as well as manage consultants to ensure delivery of quality products.

Our tech teams have recently re-platformed all our e-commerce sites to Salesforce Commerce Cloud, cutting loose the baggage of 15+ years of legacy monolith. New projects reach the latest heights of e-commerce – personalized experiences, marketplace offerings, loyalty programs, innovations in security, payment, and fulfillment, as well as general investment in technical excellence. However, we are still young on this platform and are experimenting with (and open to) fresh ideas about how to work and grow together (think CI, release management, etc.). Infrastructurally, we are well along our journey to the cloud, with heavy investment in AWS and Azure

Who You Are:

  • Possess a minimum of 4 years cumulative software testing experience with web based and client-server application
  • Minimum of 1 year experience leading test initiative
  • Possess knowledge of different software development methodologies (ex: Agile, Waterfall) and QA best practices
  • Must have strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Proactive communicator regarding project progress with your peers and managers -- notifying them of an issue sooner rather than later
  • Possess hands-on experience with test management and defect management tools
  • Flexible with working off-business hours as needed
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently, be able to assess, and shift priorities quickly
  • Must be a great communicator with a strong eye for detail, and a passion for quality software
  • Able to take on additional tasks and responsibilities in order to accomplish team, department, and company goals

You Also Have:

  • Test scripting experience and/or some programming experience
  • Working knowledge of defect and test management tools
  • Web services, cloud based and  API testing experience
  • Knowledge of basic Unix commands
  • Experience with relational and document-oriented databases, knowledge of Basic SQL
  • Experience with Continuous Integration build/deploy technologies and tools (ex: Jenkins, GO)
  • Background in business analysis
  • Experience with E-Commerce and retail

As The QA Lead You Will:

As a QA Lead, you are responsible for developing a comprehensive test plan, test strategy and test effort estimation. You will develop and execute test cases and/or test scripts based on business requirements, functional and technical requirements, user stories and business use cases. Your daily tasks include: integrating test automation into overall testing strategy wherever required, defect tracking, coordinating with and mentoring other team members, and providing test status reports to project team, stakeholders, and managers. In addition, a Team Lead provides support for scheduled deployments/releases (which may require off-hour support). You will work hand-in-hand with cross-functional and Offshore/Onshore teams to align testing goals and expectations.

Your Life and Career at HBC:

  • Benefits package for all eligible full-time employees (including medical, vision, and dental)
  • An amazing employee discount
  • A culture that promotes a healthy, fulfilling work/life balance (i.e. SaksWorks office spaces, no assigned workstations within the office, flexible PTO, etc.)

Saks is an equal opportunity employer.

Thank you for your interest with Saks. We look forward to reviewing your application.
