Role Summary:
The Director of Category Growth will be responsible for developing and executing the overall growth and merchandising strategy of a total division of business on to achieve topline sales objectives. This role reports directly to the VP of Category Growth, and works closely with cross-functional partners to develop, implement, and execute data-driven channel strategies, marketing activations, and a customer-centric site experience.

Key Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of eCommerce, category management, site merchandising, and/or digital marketing experience
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience managing a team
  • Ability to lead and develop future team leaders
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and creative problem solving
  • Superior analytical skills and ability to create ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail whilst operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Fixated on driving growth with an ability to think outside of existing limitations
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
  • Customer-obsessed, focused on building a best-in-class digital experience
  • Ability to spearhead initiatives and run point on key projects that may fall outside of day-to-day responsibilities
  • Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Analytics, with a capacity to learn new systems swiftly
  • Prior experience working in luxury eCommerce a plus
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination prior to beginning employment

Role Description:

  • The Director functions as the category expert, and plays a key role in building the business plan and the strategic direction for the category and Saks brand as a whole
  • Drive holistic site strategy for a specific division of the business, using data-driven insights to create a seamless customer experience on site. Continuously strive to better understand customer behavior and gain actionable insights to inform marketing and site enhancements
  • Manage key drivers behind sales, including: traffic, average order value and conversion, to ensure the team is on track to achieve topline sales plans
  • Leverage key investment strategy and product launches to partner with marketing and content on key initiatives
  • Build dashboards to monitor the metrics that directly and indirectly drive digital growth. Conduct data analysis and market research to identify opportunities
  • Ensure constant monitoring of customer activity, market channel data, and operational data to develop insightful analysis, strategize outsized growth for respective category, and report to relevant business stakeholders
  • Lead a team of individuals focusing on execution of business strategies with an emphasis on collaboration and inclusivity
  • Collaborating with internal and external teams. Work closely with marketing, buying/planning, operations, creative, product, as well as brand partners, to drive the success of
  • Partner closely with team leaders to develop and enhance the Saks brand, website, and competitive positioning
